From Struggles to Success with FEG

Back in 2011, life looked “okay” on the outside. My husband and I owned a small business and were making about $75,000 a year. But the truth was, we were running ourselves into the ground. We worked opposite hours just to make ends meet, taking turns caring for our daughters and my mother-in-law. My husband was hurt at work, so we thought opening a nail salon was the best path forward. Instead, it became another endless cycle of long days, tired nights, and no freedom. By 2015, I was working so hard I injured my arm. That was the wake-up call. We knew we needed something better.

Then life tested me even harder. My parents both became sick. My mom was diagnosed with cancer at a late stage. I had to empty my savings just to pay for her medical insurance and treatments. My dad had already suffered a stroke and couldn’t take care of her. Watching them burn through all their savings after working so hard their entire lives broke me. I realized if I kept trading time for money like they did, my kids would one day face the same pain I was going through. I didn’t want that for them.

That’s when FEG came into my life. At first, my goal was simple: make an extra $500 a month to help with the mortgage. But as I learned about Living Benefits, my heart shifted. This wasn’t just about money. This was about protecting families so they wouldn’t go through what mine went through. I fell in love with the product, the mission, and the community.

I started small—working with my siblings, sharing with friends, even traveling to California for the first time to spread the message. The beginning wasn’t easy. We opened two offices, one in Houston and one in Atlanta.
